Enrique Loewe was born in Germany in 1829. In 1846 he founded a Company in Madrid, Spain, which sold luxury leather bags and other accessories.
He died around the turn of the century, but the name, fashion and quality of Loewe continued.
In 1947, Loewe entered the fashion scene when acquiering the rights to sell Christian Dior New Look dresses in Spain. By the end of the 60's, Loewe begun to design his own fashion collection, using draping and gathering as well as producing classic working shirts in velvety suede.
In 1997, Loewe modernized its image by appointing Narciso Rodriguez as Chief Designer. Loewe's Logo are two mirror-enverted, wolved Initials.
Loewe is not as widespread as all the other big designer labels like Louis Vuitton or Prada. You can easily recognize a real Fashion-Insider: quality-conscious, monied aristocracry, classic and noble
- those are the customers of Loewe.
